----Trip Dates----

----Trip Description----
This 4-day loop is built for newer overlanders ready for their first real mountain trip — Colorado's Alpine Loop and San Juan "sky islands," without the stress of the most technical sections. We'll take the scenic route toward Lake City, linking gentle mountain passes, wide-open mesas, historic mining corridors, and some of the most striking alpine terrain in the Rockies.
From the aspen-lined climb over Marshall Pass to the red-rock switchbacks of Corkscrew, the driving stays approachable while the scenery does the heavy lifting. You'll pick up the fundamentals of mountain travel, build real confidence behind the wheel, and catch the San Juans at their best: cool mornings, golden light, and the first hints of fall color.
Over four days we run a full loop — Poncha Springs through the Gunnison backcountry, across the southern Alpine Loop, north through the Cimarron Range, and back along Hwy 50. Highlights include Marshall Pass, Table Top Road, Cebolla Pass, and of course Cinnamon Pass — with high mountain views the whole way.
--Camping--
We'll be camping at all dispersed locations. With that in mind, bring appropriate gear for packing out your trash, and potential potty waste.
--Elevation and Weather--
For most of the trip we'll be hovering around 10,000ft+ if you have any medical concerns that could exacerbate your issue, please reconsider this trip or message me directly to discuss. Depending on where we land for camp, temperatures could be very chilly and higher elevations bring sudden weather changes. Please please pack accordingly.
