About the event
----Trail Leader----
Justin Pascarella
----Trip Dates----
May 19th through May 26th
----Trip Description----
Break on through to the "other side" as we traverse the North Rim of the Grand Canyon! Exploring the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is like stepping into a realm where time itself is etched into the earth. Far less visited than its Southern counterpart, the North Rim offers a different adventure. With epic landscapes, vistas, lush forests, and dramatic cliffs that drop into the cavernous canyon below. Whether you're an intrepid hiker, a photography enthusiast, or a lover of quiet contemplation, the North Rim offers an unforgettable journey into one of the world's most magnificent natural wonder. Our goal is to explore the vast network of trails sprawled throughout the North Rim and Kaibab National Forest as we make our way Westward and complete our trip near Saint George Utah. And of course, seek out those spectacular views of the Grand Canyon itself where I hope we can camp. If conditions are right, I wouldn’t mind spending an entire day camping in one spot. With an overall 2 day round trip from the Denver area, just getting to our destination, this adventure could easily take a week. If time allows we'll also explore the Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness. This trip will be more about the journey, sightseeing and relaxing around camp, rather than covering miles.
*The overall commute to the start of our journey could easily take 2 days depending on personal driving/comfort levels. If coming from Overland
Expo in Flagstaff such as myself, we can coordinate meeting up or ride in convoy together, please reach out to me directly. Otherwise, plan on meeting at the location listed below.
**Be prepared for varying types of roads and unpredictable weather conditions. As always, expect the unexpected. Adventure is subject to change.
***You are responsible for any admission/entry fees for The North Rim. I will handle obtaining any backcountry camping permits once we arrive.

----Trail/Region History----
The Grand Canyon is world renowned and has a fascinating geological history that spans billions of years. The Grand Canyon itself is a result of the Colorado River cutting through layers of rock, revealing a rich geological record. The rock layers exposed in the Grand Canyon range in age from about 200 million to nearly 2 billion years old!
----Off-Road Miles----
Up to 530mi~ SPARE FUEL REQUIRED (Bring Rotopax/Jerry Cans to fill just in case)
----Trail Difficulty----
Easy to Easy-Medium: Most of the route consists of maintained dirt and gravel fire roads or service roads, but there could be some slower possibly rockier terrain. My plan is to keep things more subdued and avoid any technical trails.
