Ham radio options

Hi all,

After the meetup in March I was informed y'all use Hamm radios for communication. Do y'all have any recommendations on good handhelds and good vehicle mounted options?

I was looking at the AnyTone AT-778UV, but curious if anyone has anyone has experience with it or a better suggestion.

Thanks in advance.

A good starting radio we usually recommend is the BAOFENG BF-F8HP which you can use to listen before you get a license but not transmit. But that's optional. Once you get a license and get more familiar with ham you can upgrade to a more powerful radio. Another excellent resource locally is Ham Radio Outlet near Cherry Creek. Those guys know their stuff. I've heard of AnyTone but never used personally.

Welcome! Take a look around and join the discussion.
